Five Star Rating System

1 star = Hated it.  One of those books that you only finish because you can’t make yourself not finish a book.  More than once you wanted to chuck it across the room, which becomes expensive if you are reading on your Kindle.

2 stars = Didn’t hate it.  Didn’t really like it.  It was just okay.

3 stars = Middle of the road.  Not totally awesome.  Not awful.  Better than okay.  I would probably tell my friends about it.

4 stars = Liked it.  Solid yes to this book.  Enjoyed it enough to want to pass it along and have friends, family, followers, etc.

5 stars = Loved it.  This book gets a gold star.  I will probably talk about this book incessantly to anyone who will listen until they tell me to stuff it.  This is one of those books where you want to read it again right after you get done reading it.

DNF = Did No Finish.  I have yet to use this.  I make it a point to finish every book that I’ve ever bought, borrowed or been given.  I put this one on here because there may be that book out there that for whatever reason, I simply could not finish.

Preferred Genres

History, Historical Fiction, Literary Fiction, Classical Fiction, Biography and Memoirs, Fantasy, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, Romance, Woman’s Fiction, True Crime, Mysteries.

Genres I Will NOT Read

There are very few genres or books that I absolutely will not read.  If they are on this list, please don’t ask, I will not read them.  If I receive a request to read a book in this genre, I will ignore the request.

Graphic Novels, Graphic Erotica, Overt Religious Books, The Twilight Series and the 50 Shades of Grey Series.

Other Stuff

Please don’t ask me to read a book in a series out of order.  That will just drive me crazy.  I’m just a tad OCD and while I do enjoy reading, I can’t read a series out of order.  Just doesn’t work.

I will be providing my own personal opinion on what I read.  You don’t have to agree with me, you don’t have to like what I write.  If I don’t like something, I’ll say I don’t like it and why.  If I like it, I’ll tell you why.  I will not provide spoilers but will use plot points and in some cases quotes from the book.

I’m not looking for freebies, that’s not why I started this blog.  But if there are authors or publishers who are wanting to get their material read and reviewed, I’m open to receiving e-mails from any author or publisher.  Just keep in mind my preferences before asking.
